The Mammoth Museum at the Hayden Cabin is pleased to host its 4th Annual Mammoth Storytelling Festival. Building on the success of previous festivals, this year’s line-up will feature a mix of new and returning storytellers who will present fresh “Tales of the Sierra.” Those attending this family-friendly event might hear a tale told by Father Crowley, a story about Andrea Mead Lawrence, or a taste of cowboy poetry. This year's special musical guest is Chris Murphy, who will intermingle some anecdotes with his eclectic violin tunes.
Tickets are $10 for adults/$5 for children (under 18) and will be available at the gate. Complimentary sweet treats will be served during the afternoon.
Statement by Lesley Bruns, Festival Coordinator: “It’s been very rewarding for the Southern Mono Historical Society to grow the tradition of storytelling in our community. Our festival’s unique setting along the banks of Mammoth Creek provides a wonderful backdrop for an engaging afternoon of spoken word performance. The views of the lofty Sherwin Range are almost as impressive as the tales told by our storytellers.”
